Beanie's
Health Foods
The awesome Beanie's outfit
return to Bristol for the fifth
year running and once again
have come up with an extremely
generous and supportive Supersize
sponsorship deal to help the
BVF go ahead for 2008. For
those of you yet to meet this
fabulous family bunch from
the South Coast you are in
for a treat cos they are a
truly delightful team full
of passion and enthusiasm for
not only their wondrous ranges
of food and Ice Cream, but
for all the vegan shows and
for the vegan movement in general.
Beanie's started life as a
wholefood shop near Portsmouth
but a few years ago branched
out into the trade and became
the UK distributors for the
Fry's range of burgers, schnitzels,
sausages that originate in
South Africa. It hasn't taken
them long to get the Fry's
range of vegan 'meat substitutes'
into health stores across the
UK, including Holland and Barrett,
and you can find Fry's in most
of the freezer sections of
your local health store. As
their website says,
'At Beanie's Health Foods
we aim to provide you with
good, wholesome vegan food,
i.e. frozen products that have
not been tampered with, added
to or enhanced! We aim to ensure
that the stock we distribute
has been produced responsibly,
without harming the environment
or exploiting the work force.
Our philosophy incorporates
a broad range of contemporary
concerns from well being on
a personal level to promoting
a vegan lifestyle and preserving
the health of our environment.
We believe that GM foods should
not be a part of the food chain
and we oppose their cultivation.
We distribute our frozen vegan
ranges to the catering, retail
and wholesale trades.'
Fry's have recently added
to the range, and now offer
vegan Sausage Rolls and also
Cottage Pies, making them a
brilliant choice for people
looking for quick, easy and
cheap but still highly nutritious
vegan options. But it's not
just the Fry's range that Beanie's
do - they also distribute the
stunning range of B'Nice ice
cream, made from rice and once
again completely vegan.
In fact, so good is the B'Nice
Ice Cream range that its already
picked up two major awards - the 'Best
Food Product 2007' from the
Vegan Society, and also the
2007 PETA Proggy award for
Best Non Dairy food Product,
as well as scoring highly in
the Yaoh 007 Vegan Environmental
Awards.
The Beanie's Bunch will be
in full effect at the BVF 08,
with an indoor pitch sampling
all their delicious Fry's range,
and an outdoor gazebo down
by the main Stage where you
can get an Ice Cream - just
watch out for the queue, that's
all!!!
Thanks to all of you, not
only to Pat and Lisa, but also
the whole family for your wholehearted
support once again!!!
(insert images of awards from
website if poss, also product
shots, piccies etc)

Bute
Island (Sheese)
When the lovely Elaine phoned
us last year in 2007 to offer
some support for the BVF, so
began a modern day love story.
The whole Bute Island clan
descended on us in style and
impressed us all with their
beautiful selves as well as
their gorgeous products. The
team from Bute Island are unique
in today's clutter of companies
clamouring for your attention - this
a truly a whole clan, and they
live and breathe 120% their
commitment to the vegan community
across the UK as well as providing
top notch alternatives to dairy
products in the form of their
self produced Sheese range
of vegan cheese. The range
comes in two styles and 9 flavours - the
Hard Style Sheese in Cheshire,
Strong Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar,
Cheddar Style with Chives,
Blue Style, Gouda, Mozzarella,
Edam and Medium Cheddar, and
the new Creamy Sheese is also
available in Original, Mexican,
Cheddar, Chives and the wondrous
Garlic and Herbs.
You can find Sheese products
in a number of health food
shops in the local area as
well as across the UK - Bristol's
Earthbound and Wild Oats both
stock the Sheese range, and
of course you will be able
to sample the delights of the
entire range at the BVF 08
when the whole clan take a
giant 6m stall at in the Main
Marquee to ensure everyone
gets a chance to taste some
of the best vegan cheeses on
the market - as well as meet
the whole team, guaranteed
to light up your day with their
radiance and smiles!!! Wonderful!
And the Bute Island crew are
not just supporting the BVF - they
have been at a number of the
vegan shows across the UK recently,
including the London Vegan
Festival and the North West
Vegan Festival. They bring
a whole new dimension to the
vegan shows and their support
is very much appreciated by
everyone who comes across them.
They really deserve support
in return for their superb
efforts to bring genuinely
tasty and healthy alternatives
to dairy cheese and are to
be found in many a discerning
vegan's fridge these days as
they continue to produce the
most excellent Sheese available

Plamil
Plamil are gorgeous. We just
love you. Ever since vegan
pioneer and all time legend
and vegan superhero Arthur
Ling started the UK’s
first vegan soyamilk range
back in the 60’s (Plamil – Plant
Milk) Plamil have consistently
prepared the most gorgeous
vegan choices in the form of
Soya milk, desserts, mayonnaise
and of course the outrageous
and completely moreish ranges
of chocolate which continue
to break new ground with the
introduction of 21st century
marvels like dehulled hemp
seed and Xylitol (a natural
sweetener and an excellent
alternative to sugar) giving
a whole new meaning to the
world of chocolate.
This year at the BVF Plamil
are literally smothering
the site with bars of their
fantastic Plamil Orange
chocolate bars – including
one in each of the 500 goody
bags that we are giving away
to the first 250 visitors to
the show each day. You can
also pick up an orange chocolate
bar at our tombola next to
the acoustic stage, where tickets
are £1 each or £6
for a fiver, and every ticket
wins! And you can also get
an awesome Buy One Get One
Free on these bars too, from
a number of stalls including
Foods For Life in the Hemp
Village in the Main Marquee
- £1.50 gets you two
of these bars!!!
We’d like to take this
opportunity to say a very big
thankyou to all the Plamil
team and especially Adrian,
you have been consistently
amazing for years now and especially
in your support for the BVF
and other vegan events, and
once again have provided an
extremely generous and imaginative
sponsorship package for us.
It’s the support of firms
like this – and many
others too – that makes
it possible to undertake these
shows without having to charge
the earth either for stallholders
or our visitors.
Please visit the Plamil website
to get the full details
of their outstanding vegan
product range, and you
can find them in Wild Oats,
Earthbound and other leading
health food shops in Bristol
and across the UK ( and
across the world now, too!)
