The votes have closed on this year's Vegan Environmental Awards, and the results have now been announced.

Please visit here for the full results of the 8 categories, each with 8 nominees.

The winners will shortly receive a hand drawn certificate from vegan cartoon superhero Wonderpig.

Thanks to everyone who has voted, and especially to those nominees who helped promote the awards, thereby bringing a very positive message to thousands of people, whilst focusing on the achievements of some of the best vegan campaigners, charities, publications, people and projects.

But the real winners are all of us because together we are all pulling in the same direction to try and help people discover the benefits of the vegan lifestyle – our true lifeline to the future.

The awards are truly the people's awards as anyone can vote and can vote for as many or as few as they wish, and the people have now spoken – so congratulations to everyone for their efforts.

Big shout out to Karin at VeggieVision, sponsors of this year's awards, and to Tony Bishop – Weston of PeaPR who was and continues to be the original inspiration behind the awards, which started in 2007.

2009 sees 9 categories with 9 nominees in each, and updates will be available late in 2008 from both the Yaoh and the BVF websites.

Thanks to all of you.
