    The original vegan campaigning group, founded over 60 years ago and now in the midst of major change, including relocating to Birmingham.     Viva!     

    Busy outfit stationed in the centre of Bristol and campaigning successfully across the globe on a number of animal issues, with high profile support including Heather Mills as patron. Excellent website, lively youngsters section and brilliant Its Time to go Veggie roadshows and magazines. See www.viva.org.uk





  4. Animal AidAnimal Aid      

    Organisers of the very successful Christmas without Cruelty show in London, and with an excellent online shop too full of cruelty free goodies. Highlights for 2007 include a campaigning trailer which will be visiting a number of festivals and events around the country, bringing the vegan message to an even wider audience.     Working on the front line of animal protection in the UK, and a big fave amongst those who believe that direct action is the best tool in achieving an end to animal abuse.     High profile and vociferous campaign by activists in Oxford, attempting to stop the building of a new animal research laboratory. Recently hit the headlines after being featured in a BBC2 documentary in Nov 2006. Dedicated, courageous, effective. See www.speakcampaigns.org





  7. PETA
    PETA  

    Originating from the USA where they are absolutely huge, Peoples Ethical Treatment for Animals continues its high profile and media friendly campaigns to put an end to animal cruelty and abuse. Very high profile support including loads of rock stars, as well as excellent youth group PETA2. See www.peta.org.uk
