For the 2006 show the date was moved to June 10th, which happened to coincide with England's opening game in the World Cup. The carnival atmosphere was heightened by a blistering hot day, the Brazilian carnival girls and the World Cup Food Fest comprising vegan caterers from around the world. A huge rise in media interest saw over thirty articles and reviews; meanwhile 127 stalls, over 60 speakers and entertainers and an estimated 7,000 visitors ensured that the Bristol Vegan Fayre goes into a two day event for 2007.
